Substance Abuse & Addiction Treatment
What We treat
At the Association for Multicultural Behavioral Health, we provide compassionate, evidence-based treatment for substance use and behavioral addictions. Our services support individuals struggling with alcohol use, drug use, smoking, gambling, compulsive shopping, problematic technology use, and other patterns that may interfere with health, relationships, work, family life, or daily functioning.
We understand addiction as a complex behavioral health issue, not a personal failure. Treatment focuses on helping clients better understand the emotional, relational, cultural, and environmental factors that contribute to addictive behaviors while developing healthier coping skills, emotional regulation, and relapse prevention strategies.

Individual & Group Therapy
Our addiction treatment services may include individual therapy, group therapy, family support, and personalized recovery planning. Individual therapy allows clients to work privately on underlying stressors, trauma, mood concerns, relationship issues, cravings, and motivation for change. Group therapy provides support, accountability, education, and connection with others who are working toward similar goals.
Our Innovative Integrative Approach
We use an integrative approach that may include cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based strategies, and practical skill-building. Treatment is tailored to each client’s needs, stage of change, cultural background, language preference, and recovery goals.
Our goal is to help clients reduce harmful behaviors, strengthen self-awareness, rebuild trust, improve relationships, and create a realistic path toward long-term stability and wellness.

Harm Reduction
We also incorporate a harm reduction approach, which recognizes that recovery is a process and that each client may be at a different stage of readiness for change. Rather than using shame, judgment, or an all-or-nothing model, we focus on reducing risks, increasing safety, strengthening motivation, and helping clients make healthier choices one step at a time. Harm reduction may include identifying triggers, creating safer coping strategies, preventing relapse or overdose, improving emotional regulation, and supporting gradual behavioral change while respecting each person’s dignity, autonomy, culture, and personal recovery goals.
