Child & Adolescent Therapy
Support for Children, Teens, and Families
At the Association for Multicultural Behavioral Health, we provide compassionate, developmentally appropriate therapy for children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioral, social, or family-related difficulties. We understand that children and teens often express distress differently than adults, and our clinicians create a safe, supportive space where they can feel understood, respected, and engaged in the therapeutic process.
A Family-Centered Approach
Our work with children and adolescents often includes the whole family. We believe that lasting change happens not only through individual therapy, but also through strengthening communication, improving family relationships, supporting parents, and helping caregivers better understand the child’s emotional and developmental needs.
When appropriate, therapy may include parent guidance, family sessions, and collaboration around practical strategies that can be used at home, school, and in daily life.

Age-Appropriate and Engaging Therapy
Because every child and adolescent is different, we use a variety of therapeutic modalities depending on the child’s age, developmental stage, personality, and presenting concerns. Therapy may include play therapy, art-based interventions, talk therapy, cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness, emotional regulation skills, parent coaching, and family therapy.
For younger children, play and creative expression often become the language through which they communicate feelings, process experiences, and learn new coping skills. For adolescents, therapy may focus more on identity, independence, emotional stress, peer relationships, communication, decision-making, and developing healthier coping strategies.
